They have accepted the request and increased quota to 150,000 a day which should be plenty for now.

I’ll try to include a tasks widget in the next feature release (the one after next).

EDIT: The API has been updated to 10,000 requests/day and the form has been fixed, I’ve requested more quota from Google and am waiting for a response.

Since this idea was declined I’ve received a lot of requests for a Tasks widget, so apparently it isn’t obsolete.

The API looks pretty simple but it’s limited to 5,000 requests/day which isn’t nearly enough. I tried to request more quota from Google but the form is broken.

I reported the issue to them, if/when they fix it I can try to request enough quota and see if they’ll grant it.

Either way, this idea is back under consideration.

Either way I don’t think there’s enough demand for a Tasks widget right now, even if there were a Keep widget would replace most of the functionality making a Tasks widget redundant.

I’m planning on adding syncing to the todo widget, it seems like that would do the same thing as tasks.

Would that work instead?

It looks like creating a Google Tasks widget it possible, but I don’t know how much demand there is for one.

I’m going to leave this idea open and gather feedback for now.
